Horse for Lease - Shae

I have a 16.1 Friesian/Percheron mare that I'm looking at possibly offering for a partial lease to the right person. I have two small little ones, and my mare is too nice to sit around. Located about 20 min. south of Annapolis, MD on a large 185 acre equine farm with access to lighted indoor & outdoor rings (lights out by 10pm for those riding in the evening) and miles of trails. Easy going mare, but will take advantage of a timid rider (and lose impulsion). Mostly trail ridden in a hackamore. Responds well to confident rider. Serious inquiries only. Partial lease starting at $200 to $500 a month depending on riding schedule. Must follow farm/landlord's rules. Access to natural horsemanship practitioners and on a farm that hosts Parelli and dressage clinics. Possible access to second horse if you want to ride out with a friend and you're a good fit with my mares.

Where Does the Time Go?

Well, It's now January 2013.... I don't think I've published anything since Bryn was born.  It's been a crazy 15 months.  Here's some photos of the farm related things we've done in that time....(click on any picture to view full size.)

Bryn has watched her daddy trim many horses on the farm.

Folks talk about how sometimes husbands put on "sympathy weight" when their wives are pregnant.  We haven't had that exact problem here in our household.  Instead, it's the horses that have put on the "sympathy weight."  This summer they spent some time in their muzzles to try and get this phenomenon under control.
Somehow I think the extra pounds had less to do with me gaining baby weight and more to do with the fact that they weren't exercised regularly.  This summer will be different!!  I will have lots of time to fight my horses' (and my own) battle with the bulge.

We did a horse clinic at the start of July 2012 with Maurice.

Here I am playing with Admiral.  He's an interesting character.  Very different from our two mares.

Here I am working with Shae.  This was one of my first times back on a horse since Rienzi's and my accident earlier in the spring.

In the fall, George and I did our first competitive trail ride.  We took first and second place in our division (there were 25 or so riders in our division, so that was pretty good... still irks me that George and Ren beat me and Shae!)

Just a couple weeks ago, we took Brynlee on her first walk around the farm!

Glad to say most of my baby weight is gone!!  Yay!

 More updates to come soon!

Brynlee Anne Perry

Well, this is a totally non-horse related post... unless you count the fact that the day I went into labor I popped up on Shae just to "see how it felt."   Here's little Brynlee Anne.  Born on Oct. 23, 2011 at 5:53 AM.  The time stamp on our phone is a bit off.  Remember, you can click on a photo to view full size.

Brand spankin' new...

Brynlee's first bath a couple hours later.  George said that she screamed bloody murder the whole time!

Here's a great picture of Brynlee's poor little crooked mushed up ears and cone head... good thing that straightened up in a couple days.  Merryn called them "orc ears"... not the most flattering description!

All wrapped up and happy!

One Day Old...
Brynlee's little cone head is already better!

Time to go home!!

These next pictures are from November 4 when Jenna, Gabi and Doug came to visit.  Doug did a fantastic job taking all sorts of cute baby pictures!  Notice how nicely shaped her head and ears are now!

And now, I can't believe that she's already 7 weeks old!!  She's really changed a lot more since the Nov. 4th pictures.  I will have to post more later!
